    Do you want to end your struggle with food and weight?

    Are you tired of letting your weight and body image hold you back from fully living your life?

    Have you tried different diets and not seen resutls?

 

Our Weight Management for Total Health program provides hands-on tools that you will be able to implement immediately following each meeting. In each session, you will learn about a specific topic and work with a clinician to determine how to apply this information to your own live . Sessions will include exercises that will allow you to practice your new skills, and you will end each session making plans for how to fit the new skills into your daily life.
The program consists of the following 10 sessions*:
1.    Establishing healthy boundaries
2.    Recognizing and improving self-talk
3.    Separating food from feelings
4.    Dealing with negative feelings
5.    Legalizing all foods
6.    Using your health and values as motivation
7.    Referring to your standards (and not others’) to make judgments
8.    Asserting your needs
9.    Overcoming Barriers and Committing to Yourself
10.    Living the life you choose every day

If your situation warrants more in-depth therapeutic services, we also offer psychotherapy to address topics related to weight management. Our solution-focused, interactive process emphasizes inner strengths and building self esteem, which enables clients to make permanent changes in their lifestyle, attitude and body weight. We help clients to change their relationship with food and move away from dieting towards balanced eating and living. In a safe, supportive environment, we explore issues that may be barriers to change, such as body image, exercise resistance, and emotional eating.

Whether you benefit from skill-building or psychotherapy services, you will gain tools to identify, recognize, and move past inhibiting barriers to reach your goals. You will become aware of self-sabotaging behaviors that will allow you to improve nutritional health, enhance energy, and maintain a lifelong positive relationship with food and your body.

Options for individual weight management counseling include in-person sessions, e-mail and phone.

Interested in joining a weight management group? Groups offer additional support and encouragement in a nurturing environment. Self-care strategies are discussed while addressing underlying issues and barriers to change. Individuals learn to express their needs openly while practicing changing their unhealthy behaviors.
