Do you have trouble expressing what you really want to your partner?
Does one or both of you feel there is no hope for your relationship?
Do you want a better connection and more intimacy with your partner?
Our Relationship Building for Total Health program provides hands-on tools that you will be able to implement immediately following each meeting. In each session, you will learn about a specific topic and work with a clinician to determine how to apply this information to your own live . Sessions will include exercises that will allow you to practice your new skills, and you will end each session making plans for how to fit the new skills into your daily life.
The program consists of the following 10 sessions*:
1. Understanding individual needs
2. Defining roles in the relationship
3. Breaking negative patterns
4. Building and maintaining trust
5. Communicating effectively
6. Creating effective boundaries
7. Managing conflict successfully
8. Improving sexual connection
9. Enhancing your time together
10. Valuing your relationship every day
If your situation warrants more in-depth therapeutic services, we also offer psychotherapy to address topics related to relationship building. Our positive approach to couples and marriage therapy addresses both the individual and the relationship dynamics. Environmental stressors are defined and clients are challenged to redefine their roles. Couples learn to listen and express themselves in a safe and supportive setting. Even couples pending divorce will benefit from relationship counseling so they can recover from old hurt and pain, let go of anger and learn to develop healthy living beyond divorce and into new relationships. Healing past issues is essential for moving on and fostering healthy messages to children. Couples who may not have had success with past therapy may gain a renewed sense of hope.
Whether you benefit from skill-building or psychotherapy services, you will learn to identify underlying personal issues that may be affecting overall relationship dynamics. Partners will learn to trust and be vulnerable, communicate directly without assuming, and learn strategies that will foster intimacy. Clients will grow stronger bonds, greater connections, and a deeper understanding of themselves and each other
In-person sessions for couples and marriage counseling can also be supplemented with e-counseling and phone coaching. See our methods of consultation for couples.
We also offer half or full-day private or group intensive workshops for couples in crisis and/or wanting to renew and rebuild their relationship. Call or e-mail us for more information and available dates for workshops.
