Is there constant tension in your family?
Do you have difficulty managing your child’s behavior and feelings?
Do you wish you could create peace and balance in your household?

Do you worry about your child’s eating habits, body weight, or self-care?

Parenting for Total Health provides hands-on tools that you will be able to implement immediately following each meeting. In each session, you will learn about a specific topic and work with a clinician to determine how to apply this information to your own live . Sessions will include exercises that will allow you to practice your new skills, and you will end each session making plans for how to fit the new skills into your daily life.
The program consists of the following 10 sessions*:
1.    Identifying your parenting values
2.    Recognizing the messages
3.    Communicating effectively with your child
4.    Helping your child identify and value who they are
5.    Teaching your child to believe in self and not others
6.    Modeling and teaching acceptance
7.    Dealing with difficult situations
8.    Demonstrating competence
9.    Teaching assertiveness
10.    Living your valued relationship every day

If your situation warrants more in-depth therapeutic services, we also offer psychotherapy to address topics related to parenting and family dynamics. By assessing family dynamics and environmental stressors, we help clients challenge and redefine their roles. Family members learn to listen and express themselves in a safe and supportive setting.

Whether you benefit from skill-building or psychotherapy services, you will learn to create skills to better enhance your relationships with your children and other family members. You will be able to address concerns and establish healthy boundaries and consequences. Parents will learn to interact effectively with their children, model positive self-care behaviors, and strengthen family values and goals.
